The Greymalkin Gallery opened April 1, 2009 with hours of operation from
11:00 am to 7:00 pm daily. There will be a grand opening on Memorial Day
weekend, May 23, 24, and 25. The art gallery is located at the east side of
Troy where Highway 8 intersects Highway 99 near the old grain silos. Art on
display includes fused glass, original handcrafted artisan jewelery, artist
lampwork glass beads, Tiffany style stained glass, photography, and
hand-painted jewelery boxes. Supplies and tools for jewelery artists will
be available for purchase, including an array of sterling silver and
gemstone beads and findings.
The Greymalkin Gallery is a great place for artists to share their
creativity. Artists interested in showcasing their work are encouraged to
contact Joy Nickles to set up a time to have their work juried. The gallery
would love to view art produced in the Pacific Northwest.
Owners of the Greymalkin Gallery will also have their artwork available.
Josephine Brooks is a lampwork bead artist. Her work has been sold
internationally and featured in various shows. Joy Nickles, an artisan of
jewelry and handpainted jewelery boxes, is the former owner of The Beady
Eye. Sadie Galloway owns Feileacan Studios, focusing on stained glass and
Their goal is to provide a safe and fun location for artist to showcase
their work both in the gallery and through online listings on the gallery
website. The public will enjoy viewing local artists in a relaxing
atmosphere, whether they prefer to browse the web or visit the Greymalkin
Gallery in Troy.
