Sunday eavening, after a short but very intense wind/rain storm, I noticed a red haze in the clouds north west from my home ten miles west of Clarkston and realized it was not a sunset glow. After letting the wind die down a little, I headed up to the Alpowa Grade summit and could see the wheat field on fire to the north of the rest stop. Fire crews were on site and their lights were intermittently visible from the summit. Lightning would fill the sky and I decided to take a few shots of the display. The time was 10:45 for the lightning picture and 9:54 for the fire shot.

Yes, I missed the early reports but I was showing Joe Wilson the photos and he told me he saw my photo on the news without my name. I did see the news at eleven and it was corrected. Thank you for that. I should have sent the other photos I took..
