Field Day in Nezperce

Emergency Communications Exercise

Amateur Radio stations from throughout the USA and Canada held a 24 hour emergency communications exercise this last weekend.
The 3 Rivers Amateur Radio Club from Idaho and Lewis counties set up at the Lions park in Nezperce. Using simple antennas and radios powered by batteries charged by solar power, they were able to establish contact with 203 other stations in 37 states and 3 canadian provinces. Contact was even made with Alberta, Canada using a Ham satellite with a hand held radio and hand held antenna.
