SAD DAY IN LEWISTON TODAY, I WITNESS A RALLY OF ELDERY PICKETING BONDS FOR EDUCATION. I WISH THESE FOLKS HAD TO GO ANDWORK IN THESE SCHOOLS, WITH THESE CHILDREN AND SEE THE EFFECTS IT WILL HAVE BY NOT PASSING THESE BONDS. EDUCATION SHOULD BE ONE OF THOSE THINGS THAT A STATE NOR THE GOVERNMENT CAN TOUCH IT'S FUNDING BECAUSE IT'S OUR FUTURE.THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER THINGS THAT CAN BE CUT, AND PROGRAMS THAT COULD BE REDUCED. WHY TAKE FROM OUR CHILDREN. THESE OUR ARE LEADERS, OUR FUTURE, AND OUR NATION. ELDERLY NEED TO CONSIDER WHATS AHEAD, NOT IN THE NOW! VOTE YES FOR THE BONDS, VOTE YES FOR EDCATION!

NO LHS.. It's pretty obvious that you have no clue what you are talking about. 2 thous. a year would be well over a million dollar home, not to mention most seniors have a curcuit breaker on taxes. Do you homework before spewing your garbage.

The Bond has failed (again). Why, you ask? As a rule, old people vote and young people generally don't care. Voting for the next American Idol is of a higher priority for the average 18-24 year old.

I understand the need to replace the high school but, as a senior citizen on a limited fixed income I myself could not afford the additional taxes and there are alot more like me in this valley that can not afford it either. We could lose our homes.

Sad part is that they feel they have to go out and protect what tiny income they have left from a pack of slathering vultures like you. I'm surprised you didn't expect them to open a vein and bleed themselves dry for you right there on the street.

It's pretty obvious that they don't want to be taxed an extra couple thousand a year! Don't be stupid. They probably are on a fixed income and can't afford and extra couple hundred a month until they die!
