Today I awoke to find this chilly view through my kitchen window overlooking the Dworshak Dam in Orofino.
While taking the photo I noticed the fence rattle. I opened the window and pointed my camera down just in time to catch this cow elk taking pause after she landed in the yard.
The portion of snow missing from the small branch above her head tells the rest of the story!
