This is my 13th year helping the Doug Egeland decorate his house for Halloween. Spending 17 hours a day the whole week before has become a tradition in my life that I have come to look forward to. This year we docked the pirate ship at the castle the day before and set to work decorating the castle that was built the weekend before. We set up a pirate and his treasure, a complete scary doctors office, a knight guarding the castle, the tradtional graveyard and the over 100 pumpkins that everyone gets together to carve a few days before. We added 8 new tombstones this year and some new paintings on the castle as well as a few new moving things. We finish just as the first trick or treaters arrive and the night sets into full swing. Every year at the end of the night when the trick or treaters are all done and gone we have our tradtional meeting across the street and take our annual halloween picture of the whole thing and smile at all the ohhhs and ahhhs we get all night, talking about all of the cool things people have said to us and planning the next year out. Every year grandma whos in her 80's gets dressed up and comes and hands out candy. This year even going to a Halloween party with her friend before hand. This has become a tration that I shared with over 5000 people this year who came to get a treat and even a few tricks.
