McKalya Swearingen goes up for the shot.
Swearingen said the way they've started the season has made the morale of the team pretty good
"I think we feel good," said Swearingen. "I think we're bonding good. It's fun."
The Panthers won the state title last year and would leave to repeat as state champs again this year. Swearingen said the key to their goal is hard work at practice.
"I think we need to continue working hard at practice," said Swearingen. "And getting better as we go and not just staying at a certain level."
McKayla said spending time with her teammates has made for some very good memories and repeating as state champs would just add on to all of them. She said that one goal outside of winning states is one that she and her teammates believe is very possible.
"Getting to states is obviously one of the goals," said Swearingen.
"But I think we want to win one or more games at the state tournament."
