Phillips wouldn't change anything about her Lewiston career
LEWISTON, ID - Senior Tisha Phillips and the Lewiston Bengals just picked up their second straight 5A state title in girls basketball.

Despite losing four games, and even being doubted in a lot of people's minds, there was no doubt in her mind the ups and downs provided extra motivation.

"We've been doubted since last year and they picked us to lose every single game so it was motivation." said Phillips. "Every time Tisch would tell us we were being doubted it would just pick us up even more and we just went out there and played as hard as we could."

To cap it all off, Phillips was named the Inland Empire League's player of the year. She says the recognition is an added bonus to the state title.

"It feels good just to know that I'm respected and I can actually accomplish that goal." said Phillips.

Looking back on her career as a Lewiston Bengal, Phillips says even with all the ups and downs, she wouldn't have it any other way.

"In the end, on the court, we're always playing as a team." said Phillips. "We've had our moments but we played through them. We got what we wanted and it just all worked out for us."
