MOSCOW - Expectations for the Moscow boys basketball team are obviously pretty lofty this year. But when it comes to experience and team chemistry on the court, the Bears give you a pretty good reason to believe their goals are realistic.

"Our goals we set pretty high, we want to be the state champions this year and we think with six seniors it's something we could do," said Stannard.

The kid in charge of it all is point guard Mac Stannard. The 6'3" senior runs the ship for the Bears and is relishing the opportunity to do so, in his final year of high school ball.

"Off the court we've all been best friends our whole lives and that does help on the court," said Stannard. "We have trust in each other and know everyone is going to play as hard as they can. You know they're going to play hard for you, so you play hard for them and you help each other out."

At 6-and-1, the success they've had so far comes to not surprise. Stannard said this year in particular is the one not only himself, but the entire team has been anticipating for years.

"We played together our whole lives and this is the year we've been waiting for, us to be seniors together on the same team," said Stannard. "We feel we can make a deep run, and hopefully we get it done."
