TROY - Before the season even kicked off, Troy junior Marshall Williams anticipated the chance to be the next leader of the Trojans football team.

Through four games this season, Williams has proved it. In the last two weeks, the he's has picked up almost 500 yards on the ground, including 300 last Friday night alone. He said, he was just in the zone.

"It was a lot of fun, we just finally came together," said Williams. "The line just blocked amazing. There were huge holes and I just got through them and did the best that I could for my team."

Running behind a big, physical line Williams said they have a unique relationship that allows them to succeed.

"These guys are so close to me they're not just my linemen, they're my best friends," said Williams. "So just playing behind them and playing together is just an overwhelming feeling. It makes me really happy to be able to play with these guys."

Most importantly though, the result of the performance was a win for the Trojans who move to 2-and-2 overall.

Following a slow start to the fall, Williams knows their isn't much room for error now if they want to make the playoffs, but things his teams ready for the challenge.

"The team feels motivated coming after a win off of Deary," said Williams. "You know at the beginning we had really high expectations and then we kind of got a reality check after losing a couple games, but now we know what it takes to win and we know what we have to do to get there. We're all just excited to have the rest of the season to hopefully win as many games as we can."
