Muszynski headed to LCSC

Muszynski headed to LCSC

CLARKSTON- Richard Muszynski started playing tennis at age 11, and his love for the game has only grown over the years.

"It's all about individuals so you can't really blame someone else," said Muszynski. "It's all about you."

This Bantam senior finished 3rd at last year's state tournament and is hoping for a title this weekend.

"I'm playing pretty well but I don't know what the competition is like," said Muszynski. "It'll just be an experience once again."

Coach Larry McConnell has been coaching tennis for 26 years, and said Richard is a once-in-a-career type player.

"He's all the parts," said McConnell. "He's an awesome teammate, he's the first one shaking hands of kids coming off when they're done, he's a leader at our practices, his work ethic's phenomenal, and he takes it into the classroom. This is a valedictorian at Clarkston this year."

For the past couple years, Muszysnki has been passing along his knowledge to future tennis stars by helping LCSC coach Kai Fong teach tennis lessons. And being familiar with the Warrior program should only help him in the future.

"After I graduate I plan on going over to Lewis/Clark State College for my first year and joining the tennis team there," said Muszynski.

And the Warriors will be lucky to have him.
