Starting QB wants to be one step ahead

Cole Zacha.

LEWISTON, ID - For Lewiston High School's Cole Zacha, football is a very big part of his life.

In his first seasons as the starting quarterback for the Bengals he threw for more then 2000 yards and 20 touchdowns. But even he admits it was a little nerve racking.

"Completely, I didn't know what to expect," said Zacha. "The pace was going to be different and I had a lot of people depending on me."

Lewiston got off to a slow start this season but gained momentum towards the end. Their chance at a state title came to an end Monday night but Cole said the highlight of this season came on Friday against Post Falls.

"Just finishing a game," said Zacha. "Starting in the first quarter and not just being a second quarter team."

In that game, which they won 37-21, Cole threw for 275 yards. While it's safe to say his stats this year have been impressive, he said he has a lot he would like to improve on.

"Everything," said Zacha. "I would just like to be one step ahead of everybody and just try to help out everybody as much as I can."
