Coach Leach says Choate would be good fit for Vandals
MOSCOW, ID - The Vandals have reportedly started interviewing for the vacant head coaching position and a current WSU coach is in the mix.

WSU Linebackers Coach Jeff Choate is said to be interviewing with Idaho to lead the Vandals in 2013. Hailing from St. Maries and spending six years as the Special Teams Coach at Boise State before heading to WSU, Choate was quoted in a September interview that he believes Idaho should return to the FCS. Idaho Athletic Director Rob Spear has said he hopes to stay in the FBS but has not ruled out dropping down to the FCS. When WSU Head Coach Mike Leach was asked about Choate being a good fit at Idaho, here's what he had to say.

"I just think he's passionate about football, ya know," said Leach. "A good, sharp coach and passionate about the game."

Choate was one of four finalists for the Eastern Illinois head coaching job last year.
