Bears ready for upcoming season

MOSCOW - After going 3-and-6 last year, a head coaching change was made along with a change of attitude for the Bears. Another season under the belts of the Bears leaders has them and their new coach optimisic about this season

"We've got a good group of solid guys. We've a little short on numbers, but we've got a good group of solid guys and their coming to work everyday", said Bears head coach John Sheaff.

"We have a good get of skill players. We've got some good lineman this year. Overall, we've got a pretty good makeup. Qb's prett solid. We've got the complete package," said senior Michael Baszler.

A critical part to that package is the new head coach, who's goal is to inject new life in the Moscow football program, and if you can't tell, this coach leads by example.

"That's one of our things that we really want to work on, is our intensity coming out," said Sheaff.

"That's how you've got to be in high school. Because if the coaching staff is not intense, then the players will be blazay," added Baszler.

"They're learning how to work hard. We're getting a little discipline going. And they're rising to the occasion," said Sheaff.

A positive preseason has the Bears expecting success from this year's team.

"Expectation I think are definitely above last year. We have a bunch of new excitement and I think we're going to have a pretty solid year this year," said Baszler.

"I think it's our enthusiam, and I think it's our work ethic, and I think it's our discipline. (If) all three of those things come together, we're going to be sitting alright. We're just looking to a great year of football, we've got Kellog coming up next week. We are looking forward to our first game, there's no doubt about it," added Sheaff.
