LCSC Hosts "Intermediate" Camp

LCSC Hosts "Intermediate" Camp

By Matt Loveless

LEWISTON - Another round in the LCSC Camp series rolls on... Or I should say, bumps, sets, and spikes on.

It's 5th through 8th grade girls swarming the floor at the LCSC Activity Center. Warrior Head Coach and Camp Director Jen Greeny called this their intermediate camp.

"It's more of an all-skills camp, really focusing just on all the skills, as opposed to a positional camp," said Greeny, "Because we think that's really important to set the fundamental for all the positions at this age."

A few weeks ago, Greeny was hosting first to third graders, where much of the time was spent tell jokes, or enjoying an occasional popsicle break. Here, however, Greeny said they're a little more work-oriented.

"We'll play a little bit towards the end of tomorrow, but it's really just to get the basics for them down, before they go into their season. Maybe they start middle school play this year," said Greeny.

The high school kids come in later in the week, and Greeny and her assistants take it one step further.

"We'll probably get into more play-type stuff - game situations, but a lot of fundamental focus still," said Greeny.

Greeny says they're still filling spots for that camp which starts Wednesday. The cost is 90 dollars.

"People that are interested in coming to the high school camp, they can just show up at 8:30 on Wednesday morning," Greeny said.
