Grab your mitts for the Annual World Series Kids Clinic!
By Sabrina Beale
LEWISTON- World Series baseball at Harris Field may not begin until Friday, but an annual event that takes place Thursday and will kick off a week full of excitement.
"Thursday we are going to have the Annual Wells Fargo Kids Clinic," said LCSC Event Manager Mike Johnson. "This is for ages 4 through 12. It's going to be here at Harris Field. The event starts at 3:45 PM and goes until 5:30 PM. The gates will not open until 3:30 PM." Players and coaches from all ten World Series teams will be on hand to teach baseball fundamentals and pass on their knowledge of the game, but the fun doesn't stop there. "Then afterwards they will line up and get free hot dogs and Coke products," said Johnson. "And also they will get a free general admission ticket for any game they want to come too. It's my favorite day of the whole World Series. You've got 1500 kids out here on the field and its like organized chaos which I call it." And if you plan on coming out to Harris Field, don't forget your mitt. "I would recommend bringing mitts for them," said Johnson. "If you don't have mitts don't worry about it, we'll figure something. The only thing we're going to provide is fun." |
