Sopel named new coach for U of I women's tennis team

MOSCOW, ID - The University of Idaho has hired a new women's tennis coach to replace Dan Pollock who joined the tennis staff at BYU.

Myriam Sopel, a former women's tennis standout at Indiana University is headed to Moscow. While at Indiana she compiled a career 59-44 singles record and an 89-59 doubles record in four seasons. She was a part of two Indiana teams that advanced to the NCAA tournament and the Hoosiers were ranked as high as No. 30 in the nation during her career. Sopel was a three-time Academic All-American and three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
