MOSCOW, ID - A Vandal Football coach could be in trouble.

University of Idaho tight ends Coach Al Pupunu has pleaded innocent to a misdemeanor battery charge Tuesday morning. The arrest stemmed from an incident on June first in which Pupunu allegedly knocked a teenage boy unconscious in his home.

He's been the Vandal's tight ends coach for five-years after being hired by former Head Coach Robb Akey, and was the only assistant coach retained when Paul Petrino was hired.

In an official statement from the University of Idaho on the subject, they told us, quote, "We are aware of this family situation and will allow the investigative process to be completed before we take definitive action."
