LEWISTON, ID - On the heels of three national championships, the L-C track team will be getting more support in the near future.

The Lewis-Clark State College Track and Field program will formally expand beginning in the 2014-15 season. The expansion will include an increase in scholarship funds, the number of events for which student-athletes are recruited to compete, the adoption of Lewiston's Vollmer Bowl as a home base, and the hiring of a full-time assistant coach.

Both men's and women's cross country programs finished in the top 10 at the NAIA National Championships in November, while junior Sam Atkin won the Indoor Track National Title in the 3,000 meters and followed that up with a 5,000-meter title in the outdoor season, to go along with Chelsey Leighton's marathon title.
