PULLMAN, WA - It may not have been called a scrimmage, but it sure looked like one.

So I guess we can call it a mini scrimmage as the Washington State University football team was on the practice field and hitting hard Thursday afternoon. The offense took on the defense in full pads with some eleven on eleven action in a contest that saw the offense dominate for the most part. Not too much looked different from last year as the secondary of the defense couldn't stop Mike Leach's air attack, but the d-lineman and linebackers did a great job against the run game. Overall, everyone was pleased with the contest.

"Pretty good, I thought we were explosive and inconsistent on both sides of the ball," said WSU Football Head coach, Mike Leach. "I thought we had good work and I thought we were competitive but we need to get a little more polished. It's that time of year so...but we've had good practices so, it went good."

"You know, we played well, always places to improve," said WSU quarterback Connor Halliday. "We need to improve a little in the running game, and you know we're missing some guys right now and that's tough but we're battling through it."

The Cougs will have a day of rest on Friday, and will be back on the practice field this Saturday.
