Josiah’s Jam is an annual fundraiser for SIDS
LAPWAI, ID - The LC Valley got a chance to see how the Warrior men's basketball team is going to look this season, and helped a special cause at the same time.

The LCSC men's basketball team played a scrimmage at Lapwai High School for the annual Josiah's Jam, an event that raises money that goes towards raising awareness for sudden infant death syndrome, or SIDS.
The event is in memorial of Josiah Sobotta-Marek who passed away in 2001. The event featured a raffle, Indian tacos, baked goods, and of course, the LCSC basketball team playing against itself. Head Coach Brandon Rinta was anxious to see which of his players would really stand out in this scrimmage, but is also proud to annually be a part of this important event.

"It really is a good event,” said Rinta. “I give a lot of credit to the Sabotas who spearhead this, and our guys, they have a lot of fun. It’s for a good cause, but they get free Indian tacos out of it, and it's a pretty special event."

And those Indian tacos sure did look great. A big thanks to everyone who came out to not only see some great basketball, but to raise money for such a great cause. The final score was 79-62 in favor of the white team.
