Warriors return home to face Oregon Tech
By Sabrina Beale
LEWISTON- The second ranked Warrior baseball team returns to Harris Field this weekend, for their final home games of the regular season. The Warriors stretched their win streak to 15 on Sunday, and are hoping to continue playing well while back at home.
"We're just trying to stay hot," said Halton. "We've been playing well as of late against UBC. We just got back from that road trip and we're just trying to carry it out into Regionals, our game against Gonzaga and our game against University of Washington." The Warrior pitching staff has been solid all season and plan to use this weekend to gear up for the post-season. "Make sure everybody's healthy," said Junior Ryan Woods. "We have the talent to do big things during that time. Just make sure we're staying healthy and being on top of things. Getting all that done." With less than a month until the Warriors begin defending their national title during the World Series, Halton said it's time to focus in and prepare for a busy month of May. "We've got to just dodge some injuries along the way," said Halton. "Try to maintain and keep getting better every day and keep coming together as a team. And if we can come together at the right time hopefully everything will work out." The Region I tournament is only a week away, but LC isn't looking past their series with Oregon Tech this weekend and hope to pound out a few more W's. "It's always nice to win games at home," said Woods. "It's always nice. So hopefully we can get a few games this weekend." The Warriors will play a double-header on Saturday beginning at 1 PM, then wrap up the series with a double-header on Sunday at 11 AM. |
