College rodeo comes to town

LEWISTON- Throw on your Wranglers and cowboy hat, a college rodeo is coming to town. The University of Idaho Rodeo Team will host this weekend's event, which will draw teams from all over the area.

"There's WSU, LCSC, Walla Walla Community College, Blue Mountain Community College, Treasure Valley Community College, Oregon State University, even the University of Washington," said Vandal Scotti Fuller.

The Vandal women currently sit in 2nd place in the regional standings, while the men hold down the 4th place slot. Both teams are hoping to work their way to the top of the leader-board and qualify for the National Finals.

"We're hoping to do really well this weekend," said Fuller. "We want to improve our standings because the top two teams in the region get to go to the college national finals in Casper,Wyoming this June so we're hoping to be one of those two teams."

This weekend's event kicks off Friday night and continues through Sunday.

"Friday and Saturday night at 6:30 PM, and Sunday at 11 AM are the short-go championship round," said Fuller. "The top 10 in each event come back so hopefully everyone will come out to it."

All of the events will take place at the Lucky Acres Arena and its only five dollars to get in.
