LEWISTON- Beau Mills, Jessie Mier, Mark Thompson. Remember those guys from last year's NAIA World Series Championship team? Well those three players and more are back in town this weekend for the annual Ring ceremony. KLEW Sports caught up with some Warriors from last years team that went on on to play minor league ball last summer, and all of them told us, it's great to be back in the valley.

"This is something you've been looking forward to for the whole year," said former Warrior Zach Evangelho. "To get to come back and be with all the guys again, so it's pretty exciting."

"Nothing else like it," said former Warrior Jessie Mier. "Just coming back and seeing all the guys it really rekindles a lot of the old memories. It's really fun. I'm excited."

A record eight players from last year's team continued their careers playing minor-league ball. Among them was Mark Thompson, who was selected in the 8th round by the Cleveland Indians. He said there were some big differences between college ball and the next level.

"It's just every day you're going to see a pitcher on the mound who's going to be really good," said Thompson. "They're there for a reason and you're there for a reason and every day you're going to have to come out and bring your A-game."

Last year's NAIA player of the Year Beau Mills was back in town Friday for the first time since being selected 13th overall in the Major League Draft. Mills said he's been working hard, preparing for the upcoming season.

"I got invited to big league camp so I'm going to big league spring training at the end of the this month on Feb. 15th," said Mills. "And then they see how you do there and they put you wherever you want. I think I'm going to start where I ended in Kingston High-A ball. That's just where I think. I could be in double-A who knows. It's just my personal goal to get to Double-A or Triple A by the end of the year."

But the focus this weekend isn't on moving up the baseball ladder. It's re-living those magical May days of last year's series, that no-one in this valley can forget.

"I love Lewiston and that's from the bottom of my heart," said Mills. "I absolutely love it and I'm so excited to be back."
