Youth movement takes over at Washington State
PULLMAN, WA – One thing is widely known about Washing State head coach Mike Leach and that’s the fact he is brutally honest, something the veterans on the WSU football team are quickly realizing.

There have been a lot of new faces on the field this season for Washington State, something that Leach attributes to the lack of consistency from his upperclassman.

When asked more about the veteran leadership on the Cougs squad that is 2-4 on the year, his brutal honesty was on full display for all to see – with a little Halloween twist.

“Some of them have had this zombie like go through the motions while everything’s how it’s always been and that’s the how it’ll always be,” said Leach. “Some of them quite honestly have an empty corpse quality. That’s not pleasant to say or pleasant to think about but it’s a fact which is why it’s been necessary for us to have the youth movement we have.”

Speaking of that youth movement, the projected starting lineup for Saturday’s game includes only three seniors, all on defense. Three true freshman and one redshirt freshman will get the starting nod on offense.
