LEWISTON, ID - With the valley being a big-time baseball area, people always jokingly ask me to talk about our national past time during the off-season.

Fair enough, here we go. Lewis-Clark State College Baseball Senior Outfielder, Cody Lavalli was named to the 2014 preseason All-America team on Monday.

Lavalli hit .373 with a team-high 10 home runs and 50 runs batted in last season, and helped the Warriors to the championship round of the 2013 Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series.

In June, he was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 37th round (1,120th overall) of the Major League Baseball first-year player draft. He was also named the NAIA West Player of the Week on two occasions. Here's to a great upcoming season for Lavalli and the entire Warriors team.
