PULLMAN, WA – The WSU defense is busy preparing for the Oregon Ducks offense, and with the Ducks new number two ranking in the country, that’s obviously no easy task.

Not only are the Cougs preparing for the speed that each player on the Ducks offense possess, but the speed in which they call and execute their plays.

Washington State head coach Mike Leach says that is one of Oregon’s biggest strengths and his defense needs to be ready to adjust.

“That’s what they do well,” said Leach. “The key thing is to get lined up and be able to transition your defense and switch it off in as quick as fashion as possible.”

The Washington State defense will also have to prepare for the Oregon’s Colt Lyerla, a tight-end that saw time at running back against Arizona and looks to be a new wrinkle in the Chip Kelly offense.
