U of I opener at North Texas disappoints Vandals
MOSCOW, ID - Over to the other side of the border where the Idaho Vandals traveled to Denton, Texas to take on the Mean Green of North Texas for their first game of the season.

Let's start out in the first quarter where the Vandals start out beautifully...quarterback Chad Challich rolls out to the left side and hits his full back Jake Manley for the short-yardage touchdown...the extra point would be blocked, but UI takes a six to nothing lead.

Unfortunately, that would be the only scoring for the Vandals in this game. Challich still had himself a decent game, as he went 19 for 27, passing for 230 yards and one touchdown. He'd also rush 16 times for 66 yards. On the rushing side, Jerrel Brown led the Vandals with six carries for 70 yards. Defensively, Marc Millan and Matthew Willis both led the team with ten tackles a piece. The Vandals will travel to Wyoming to take on the Cowboys this Saturday at 1 p.m.
