Vandals look to improve their running game
MOSCOW, ID – While Idaho’s passing game has been the positive for the Vandals offense, it’s their running game that has yet to really hit its stride.

The run game, anchored by Ryan Bass and James Baker, managed only 82-yards against New Mexico State and has a total of 472-yards on the year. 200 of those yards came against Wyoming.

Vandals head coach Robb Akey said, bottom line, it’s all about producing points, but things need to improve.

“We’ve got to continue to grow there,” said Akey. “I think we’re capable of doing more. We’ve got to stay persistent with it and execute it out better. I think that is something that will continue to grow as the season goes on.”

The Vandals running game is ranked 120th, which is last in the country, in total rushing yards. Idaho’s opponent on Saturday, Texas State is ranked 95th.
