Vandals have similar records and similar losses
MOSCOW, ID – The similarities between Idaho and Wyoming heading into Saturday’s matchup is stunning.

Both teams’ sports a 0-3 record that comes by way of losses to a team from the Big Sky Conference, a team from the Mid-American Conference, and a team ranked in the Top 25.

The Cowboys are now also playing without starting quarterback Brett Smith who went out of the game against Toledo two weeks ago with an injury and hasn’t played since.

Vandals head coach Robb Akey said they are focused on the bigger picture and not just one individual player.

“Their offense in the grand scheme of things will be what their offense is,” said Akey. “There will be some little things with in that we need to be prepared for based upon if we get another quarterback or not. We’ve seen what they’re going to do with their defense and how that applies to what we do offensively so we can protect and run and throw the ball the way that we need to throw it.”

Kickoff between the Cowboys and Vandals is set for 2pm on Saturday in the Kibbie Dome. It’s Military Appreciation Day where all service men and women get their tickets for half price. It’s also the Hall of Fame Game where the University will honor the 2012 inductees to the Vandal Athletics Hall of Fame.
