MOSCOW, ID – There’s no denying the Vandal senior kicker Trey Farquhar is one of the best in the nation and he proved that again during Idaho’s 26-18 victory over New Mexico State on Saturday.

Following the game in which he went 4-of-4 on kicks of 55, 53, 39, and 32-yards, he was named the Western Athletic Conference’s Special Teams Player of the Week as well as the Placekicker of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards.

This game at least, Farquhar said he had help from Kristin Armstrong and her Olympic gold medal.

“Yeah, she rubbed my right foot,” said Farquhar. “It was pretty cool. She rubbed it with the gold medal, it was pretty awesome.”

Farquhar is currently tied for first in the nation for field goals made from 50 or more yards.
