MOSCOW, ID - The Vandals Football team was still looking to get win number two in the books, and though they're gonna have to wait till next week, let's take a look at the highlights anyway.

The Vandal's band was blaring, the fans were out, and here come the Idaho Vandals Football team. 1-7 Idaho Vandals Football team as they took on the 5-3 Texas State Bobcats. A team they will be seeing a lot in the next few years when the Vandals join the Sun Belt in 2014.

First quarter, it's the Bobcats who strike first on this one-yard run from Robert Lowe. Know, a different Rob Lowe.

Vandals strike back quick though. Quarterback Taylor Davis drops back and looks left, and tries to force a ball in to Najee Lovett, it's deflected and ends up in the hands of Deon Watson who just happens to be standing in the end-zone. Was that a trick play or luck? Doesn't matter, we have a tie game at seven.

Bobcats can throw too. However, right before the end of the first half, Quarterback Tyler Jones hits Isaiah Battle for the four-yard touchdown. Bobcats miss the extra point, but go up 23-14 at the half.

Only score of the third quarter, Bobcats Tim Gay breaks off a 20-yard run into the end-zone, that would put the cats up 30-14.

Fourth quarter now, and Jones fakes to the left as if he's going to run it and ends up faking out the entire Vandal defense. And he finds a wide open Terrence Franks for the 67 yard, no-one around him score. Bobcats have a big lead, 37-14.

Vandals try to make something happen late in the fourth. Taylor Davis, pressured, rolls out to the right and finds Richard Montgomery for 10 yards in a touchdown...and that would be the end of the scoring as the Texas State Bobcats take this one, 37-21.

"You know, we really had good practice all week," said UI Football Head coach, Paul Petrino. "I thought we had good preparation, fully expected us to play really well, and I thought at times we did play really well. We're just not quite there yet...it's still a process, we're still working on where we need to get to be."

The 1-8 Idaho Vandals will take on a 6-3 Old Dominion team that has won 6 of their last seven games. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Kibbie Dome.
