Adrenaline rush of hoops keeps Schumacher hooked
GRANGEVILLE, ID - Brad Schumacher is this week's P1FCU Prep Athlete of the Week.

As a senior at Grangeville High School, Brad Schumacher is high above the rest. Of course that's not only due to his 6'5" stature, but also because of his abilities on the court.

Hitting the hard wood since fourth grade, Grangeville High School's Brad Schumacher has been a big contributor to the Bulldog roster and he attributes his success to his hard work and his dad.

"My dad always helped me out," said Schumacher.

Standing at 6'5", this post has no problem putting points on the board. He's Grangeville's leading scorer, making him an ideal P1FCU Prep Athlete.

"He's worked really hard on his game and he's become a very competent scorer," said Grangeville High School head boys' basketball coach Skip Hall.

In addition to that, Hall said Brad is unselfish and always gives 110%. The coach's compliment is one that Schumacher humbly accepts.

"I work hard in practice and do well in games," said Schumacher.

Not only has Schumacher excelled at the high school level but he was hard to stop, even before his days as a Bulldog.

"When I was younger I participated in the Hoops Shoot for the Elks Club and I went to state four times for that, said Schumacher.

Playing both basketball and baseball, basketball is his favorite and said it's the adrenaline rush of hoops that has kept him hooked.

It's a lot of a fun, a lot of action in it," said Schumacher. "Always have a good time, gettin' along with my teammates and always can learn something new."

His eagerness to learn and his passion on the court makes Brad Schumacher this week's P1FCU Prep Athlete of the week.
