Practice makes perfect, but in Cougar Football patience makes perfect

Practice makes perfect, but in Cougar Football patience makes perfect
PULLMAN, WA - There's a phrase you hear from players and coaches a lot in all sports...they're just going to take it one game at a time.

And that's exactly the plan for the Washington State Cougars Football team, who are preaching patience and only looking ahead to the next game. With two scrimmages down and their first game against Auburn less than two weeks away, the Cougars are beginning to settle into a zone and focus on the job that needs to be done.

"I was talking to the team in our meeting the other day and I was telling everybody to worry about that Saturday," said Quarterback Connor Halliday. "Everybody's been talking about bowl games for the past eight years and frankly nothing's happened."

"We gotta' polish everything up," said Head Coach Mike Leach. "I mean as the workload goes down then the timing will become sharper and sharper."

Though the Cougs will have closed practices until after their first game against Auburn, you can learn much more about them by watching KLEW's 30-minute WSU Football Special, airing right after the Seahawks-Packers preseason football game on Friday!
