76 teams converge for Powerade Soccer Storm

76 teams converge for Powerade Soccer Storm
LEWISTON, ID - European footballers were out by the hundreds this past weekend...though most people around here know them as American soccer players.

The 2013 Powerade Soccer Storm brought out 76, three-person teams to Walker Field in Lewiston on Saturday. Seems like a lot of teams, but every one of them was able to play several games on the 24 modified fields. Players and spectators alike enjoyed the scene with not only the soccer, but several food vendors, games, and ping pong ball drop. The speed of the games is how all 76 teams were able to play so many times.

"My favorite part of this is just the speed and energy within the games," said Powerade Soccer Director Tim Barker. "If you lose a game, there's not even enough time for you to remember or dwell on the fact that you lost a game."

Congrats to the Destroyers, Kicks are for Kids, and the Pink Unicorns on taking the championship in your respective brackets!
