LEWISTON, ID - It was announced Thursday afternoon, effective immediately that Dan Maurer is no longer the head wrestling coach at Lewiston High School.

In a press release sent out by the school they said a letter of resignation was received from Maurer in the morning. It went on to say the school's administration is working to appointment an interim head coach as soon as possible.

Maurer was not present at Lewiston's meet on Wednesday against Clarkston due to an illness. In his letter of resignation he said "It has become apparent to my family that I must focus on my health at this time."

No official reason for Maurer's resignation has been given yet and we'll keep you up to date as more details are learned.
