LEWISTON, ID - It's the end of the second week of practice for the Lewiston High School Bengals football team and the players hit the practice field hard.

Bengals Head Coach Shawn Nilsson said the team ended their double days on Wednesday and they'll be splitting up next week into JV and Varsity teams. Nilsson said he's pleased with where the team is at on both sides of the ball.

"Honestly, I'm pleased with all of our guys," said Nilsson. "I'm pleased with them buying into our work ethic and what we're asking, what we're demanding out of the kids. If we stay healthy we're going to be a force to be reckoned with."

This is Nilsson's first year as head coach for the Bengals. He has plenty of experience with the game, having served as the offensive coordinator for Lewiston in 2007 and he played football for the University of Idaho in the 80's.
