Genesee, Colton baseball border battle

Genesee, Colton baseball border battle
COLTON, WA - With prep baseball in it's second week, we see the first of many upcoming border battles.

The Genesee Bulldogs of Idaho took a little trip across the border to take on the Colton Wildcats of Washington. Last week's P1FCU "Prep Athlete of the Week" Dalton Patchen was throwing some heat, strikes out the first two batters and forces the ground-out for the third. He would end up pitching four innings, striking out eight and only giving up two hits.

Offensively for Colton, Austin Meyer would score three runs and steal three bases, and this game went into the hands of the Wildcats they beat Genesee 7-2.

But wait...those two schools played in another form of baseball.
Right across the football field in Colton, another game was being played with similar rules. The girls of Genesee came to town to take on the lady Wildcats. This one was a close game throughout the contest...but then in the second inning, all-around athlete Jenna Moser steps to the plate and blasts an opposite field shot to right...she would end up with an RBI triple there, and the lady Wildcats
would win a close one, 6-5.
