PULLMAN, WA - The Washington State cougars 2012 football campaign has come to a close and the team capped off their season with a thrilling Apple Cup win over the Huskies.

The Cougs grabbed the victory after having moved on from the departure of star wide receiver Marquess Wilson. His departure carried with it, claims of abuse from the coaching staff which was not backed up by any of the other players who addressed the media since. It appears as though we will all soon get back to talking about the act of playing the game, rather than who left the team and for what reason.

"The whole thing is an obvious distraction," said Head Coach Mike Leach. "He's basically recanted everything he's said. So you know, beyond that the entire thing has just been a total waste of time."

Leach went on to say that Wilson had not directly addressed the issue with him, but Leach encouraged the media to wait for the report to see the findings that will clear the air. On another note, he made it clear he's ready to focus on the off-season and recruiting rather than the recent distraction.
