PULLMAN, WA – Washington State head coach Mike Leach has been preaching consistency all season long to his team.

There have been flashed of brilliance followed by head scratching moments.

Leach and the Cougs are still for that consistency following a loss to Oregon State in which the defense appeared to be turning a corner while the offense took a step back. Leach is hoping he finally sees a consistent full team effort during WSU’s only appearance in Martin Stadium during the month of October.

“We go out there and play with eight guys a play you’re not going to be real productive,” said Leach. You might make something happen here and there but you’re not going to have consistency and that’s what we really lacked was consistency. We can’t go out there with clouded minds, just focus on the play at hand and execute it to the best of our ability. Then after that, regardless of the result, no matter how bad or good it was, go out and do it again.”

Both WSU and California are sporting 2-4 records heading into Saturday’s matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm.
