Klemp wins wrestling championship for the third year in a row
NAMPA, ID - A local prep wrestler did something huge last weekend that could prove to be even bigger next year.

Lewiston High Junior Wrestler Ryan Klemp was crowned the 5A State Champion in the 152-pound weight class last Saturday in Nampa. What's even more impressive is this is his third State Championship in as many years as he's been a prep wrestler. Klemp talked about a rare event that he will have the opportunity to do next year, go for the four-peat.

"It's kind of been one of my goals for a long time,” said Klemp. “So, I mean, Lewiston’s never had a four-timer. “So it's kind of a big deal to me, I think it'd be kind of cool. Good opportunity so I’m definitely confident, but a lot of nerves with it too when it's that big of a goal for me."

With Klemp's five-to-one win in this year's State title, that gives him two titles at the 152-pound weight class and one in the 138-pound.

Congrats to Ryan on the three-peat as we hope to see him make Lewiston history with a fourth next year!
