LEWISTON- Some may call it a rebuilding year. The Warrior men's tennis team graduated over half their squad from last season, but the players that do return are more than willing to step up and pass along their knowledge.

"It's really different for me," said senior Ali Faris Mohamed. "Last year there were a lot of seniors, five seniors, and this year there are a lot new guys. It's been really different. I miss all the past people so. I think I can pass on a lot of the things I've learned in the previous years to the new people."

Mohamed is the lone senior on the 2008 squad, but is confident his younger teammates will step up and fill the void.

"I think the team is really good," said Mohamed. "It will be good to see how we start up the season and the coming games so I'm excited."

Lc's tennis tradition continues to run strong, as the men's team as competed in 17 national tournaments a streak they plan to continue this season.

"I think we have a good team spirit," said Warrior Junior Cedric Dufour. "We want to win all our matches this year. So I'm sure it's going to be fine and fun."

The men open up their season Monday afternoon against Gonzaga and Muhammad said they're ready to roll.

"Kai Fong makes sure we're in good shape all throughout the year, even though we don't play in the fall so I think we'll be good to go."
