ISLAMABAD (AP) - Police say four Pakistanis working for Portland-based Mercy Corps have been kidnapped by gunmen in southwest Baluchistan province.

Kidnappings have soared throughout Pakistan in recent years, and many of the cases involve ransoms thought to help finance militant movements.

Also Friday, a police official says a small explosion in a store that sold sugar has killed two people and wounded two others in Pakistan's main northwestern city of Peshawar.
