Lost & stolen bikes will be given away if owners don’t reclaim them

Lost & stolen bikes will be given away if owners don’t reclaim them
CLARKSTON, WA - Over 50 bicycles are sitting in a storage unit waiting to be polished up and given new homes.

If abandoned or stolen bikes haven't been picked up by their owners, the City of Clarkston will declare them surplus bicycles. Each year the city donates a portion of the bikes to the Boys and Girls Club. Then the club repairs them and gives them to their kids.

"For them to have the opportunity to have a bike that's not going to pose a cost on their parents or guardians that’s big for our kids and their families," said Unit Director Molly Murphy. "It's just a great thing for us to be able to give to them."

Murphy said she isn't sure how many bikes they'll be getting from the city, but said the club is always grateful.
