CLARKSTON, WA - Students from across the country went to class Monday morning wearing green and white in honor of those lives tragically taken Friday in Connecticut.

"You'll find out at all levels that the students really care about one another," said Lincoln Middle School principal Mike Sperry ." I think that they can relate. They're very compassionate and they want to help out and they want to show that they care. This is just one of the ways that we can do that."

"We know that they're there and that we're helping them," said Lincoln Middle School seventh grader Allison Jones. "It could have happened to any of us."

Each student paid tribute to those lives lost by tying green and white ribbons in a line along their school fence. The fence stretches between Heights Elementary and the middle school. Students also showed their support by wearing blue and yellow, the colors of Newtown High School.
