CLARKSTON, WA - The Asotin County Fire District No.1 are one step closer to getting a new facility just down the street.

According to Fire Chief, Noel Hardin they've proposed an offer on the Life Center Foursquare Church property. The $1.75 million offer is contingent on a three month feasibility study that will assess the building.

"The ultimate goal is to look at...can we convert this?" said Hardin. "What is it going to cost to convert this property as opposed to building new because really we need to do something. We've outgrown the property we're in right now."

Hardin said the current fire district building on Appleside Boulevard was built in the 1950's. They've done several add-on's to create more space but it's just not enough to meet current and future demands.

Hardin says the church may continue to use a segment of the building. Other details of the contract are contingent on the feasibility study.
