Voting made easier with online voting system developed by U of W

Voting made easier with online voting system developed by U of W
ASOTIN, WA - The Asotin County Auditor's Office is making it easier for service men and women to vote while they're serving overseas.

It's a partnership with surrounding counties that will improve the online voting system, so those in the military don't have to rely solely on mail-in ballots. The program was developed by the University of Washington with several factors in mind.

Auditor Darla McKay said the program also helps those with disabilities.

"The nice thing is there's no cost to our county, there's no money that coming in and out of the county," said McKay. "Kitsap county is the fiscal agent for this."

The online voting system not only works for voting in the federal elections, but state and special elections also.
