LEWISTON, ID - Well drillers are waiting for approval of a Groundwater Management Plan for the Lewiston Plateau.

For years, wells in the Valley and surrounding area haven't been getting the water they need. Friday a Well Driller's Conference was held at the Red Lion where professionals talked to well drillers about a management plan for the Valley's regional aquifer, which is getting re-charged by the Snake River.

"With the groundwater management area we are looking at ways to manage that for water users in the area," said ID. Dept. of Water Resource Manager, Keith Franklin. "Also, future water users that would like to invest in the Lewiston area."

Franklin said he isn't sure when they'll get a response from the Director of Idaho's Department of Water Resources, but he thinks it could be soon.
