LEWISTON, ID - Work is well underway where apartments near the intersection of 17th Street and Stewart Avenue will be built following the approval to vacate land near the construction site.

The foundation was poured for the multi-unit housing Tuesday. In a six to one vote Monday night, the Lewiston City Council approved a portion of land be transferred to land owner Noel Blum.

"We are moving some dirt out there right now," said Blum. "And the vacation of these lots and the road we hope is in the best interest of everybody in the community."

Blum said they're hoping to have the 120-unit apartment complex built by September.
