The investigation remains open.
KAMIAH, ID - The body found next to a crashed van near Kamiah over a week ago has been identified.

It is the body of 27-year-old E.J. Farris. Farris had been reported missing after last being seen leaving the Kamiah Hotel Bar in the early morning hours of June 7th. His body was found off the Woodland Road Grade near Kamiah on June 21st. The body was badly decomposed when it was found, so identification and cause of death were impossible to determine at the time.

Nez Perce Tribal Police said Farris' wallet and driver's license were found at the scene but that alone couldn't be used to identify the body.
A medical examiner said the physical injuries to the skeletal structure were consistent with a vehicle accident.

Nez Perce Tribal Police Chief David Rogers said there are several elements of the case they're still trying to find answers to. But for now it's looking like a motor vehicle accident.
